Simple Steps to Winter Skincare

Simple Steps to Winter Skincare

Winter can be harsh on any skin, but seems to be harsher on women in their later 40's, to early 50's, when skin is losing the elements that keeps it soft, supple, and smooth.

So what is a woman to do? Well, these steps will help you to keep your skin "Winterized":

1. Washing your face is always important, but washing and exfoliating at the same time, saves time! BONUS! So, find yourself a facial cleanser with a gentle exfoliant. It's important to remove the dead, dry skin that sits on the surface of our skin. If you don't, your pores can become clogged and your skin can look dull and lifeless.

2. Moisturize! Moisturize! Moisturize! Skin, especially mature skin benefits greatly from moisturizing, but in the Winter it's especially important to stay hydrated. So find yourself that moisturizer that gives your skin that extra moisture without leaving your skin feeling heavy and greasy. The last thing we need is our makeup sliding off our face, or our noses blinding someone when the sun hits it because they're so shiny from the extra oil! And it's definitely not good for our pores. Oil can cause pores to clog and our skin to break out. And let's face it, we're past that stage in our lives-or should be!

3. Last but certainly not least, and definitely most important, SPF!! UV rays don't stop being damaging just because the sun is farther from the Earth. From young to old, SPF is super important, and this is not a product you want to skimp on. UV rays can cause wrinkles, spots, and in cases of a lot of exposure to the Sun's damaging rays-skin cancer.

This Winter, be on the lookout for quality skincare products, and you can even support small businesses while getting those quality skincare products! Taking care of your skin this Winter, any season really, can be the difference between looking 50 at 40, or 40 at 50! So please take care of your skin!
